There are several projects that teach the residents of the farthest farms ways to overcome the drought and, at the same time, be able to create and subsidize livestock and plantations, making them able to earn their own money.
One of these projects is the Goat Production Chain, which, in partnership with Consultoria Sertanejo, promotes the activity of raising goats and sheep in a sustainable and profitable business. The work offers technical support, training, genetic improvement and knowledge for setting up businesses, expanding the role of breeders. The activities are carried out in several communities (Aqueduct, Dam, Surubim, Suçuarana and Vermelhos, etc.).
Social-environmental Plans and Programs are management tools that allow us to enhance the positive aspects of a given enterprise, in addition to mitigating possible impacts.
At the Tucumã unit, the socio-environmental programs and sub-programs that are already underway are: Social Communication Program, Health Support Program, Environmental Education Program and Local Economy Diversification Program, which includes sub-programs to support suppliers, by hand of work (training and qualification), responsibility of companies, support to the local development forum, and strategic partnerships with the city hall.
At the Xavantina unit, contributions to established regional programs such as Projeto Esperança, Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Exceptionals and sponsorship of local fairs, rodeos and cultural events and youth sports teams are included.
