Development of local goat farming

Raising goats and sheep is a rural activity in the semiarid region that has been practiced for many years. Aiming to preserve history, culture and promote the perpetuation of the activity as a working tool for families in the region, promoting technical qualification through Sertanejo Consulting. The actions have transformed the reality of rural producers. As an example, we cite the creation of “green lungs”. This technique is defined as the strategic reserve of food for goats and sheep, which will be used in times of drought, preventing the animals from lacking food.

In partnership with the consultancy, we provide knowledge that can further increase income generation from the activity. Two of these actions are the production of dairy products from goat’s milk and the qualification for the production of special and smoked cuts of goats and sheep. In both cases, in addition to technical qualification, we encourage the formation of rural associations as an important agent for local development.
