In September 2009, we implemented the Vale do Curaçá Vocational Training Center in the District of Pilar, with the objective of offering vocational courses from the Young Apprentice Program in the mining area to people in the District and surrounding communities.
The Program is in its 9th class and has already trained 588 young people, including 24 PCDs. Young people are trained in Mining Process, Industrial Maintenance, Processing Assistant and Administrative Routine Assistant. Currently, the class has a workload of 1600 hours, which are divided between the classroom and practical activities at the company’s facilities. Today, 90 students are enrolled, divided into two classes of 45 in morning and afternoon shifts. The percentage of labor utilization is more than 65%.
