The Boa Esperança Project began its history in 2003, with the discovery of the mineral deposit through the work of the areas of Geology, Geochemistry and Geophysics of the company Codelco do Brasil, which at the time was the controlling company. In December of the same year, the 1st drilling hole was carried out.
Between 2004 and 2006, the exploratory research project was developed, which reached the mark of 21,705.62 meters of drilling in 61 DDH (Diamond Drill Hole) drilling holes.
In October 2007, a contract was signed with Codelco for the assignment and mining rights of Boa Esperança to Mineração Caraíba. Research continued intensively and, in 2008, studies began for environmental licensing and approval of the final research report at the National Department of Mineral Production (DNPM).
In 2009, the Environmental Impact Study was analyzed at a public hearing, approved the following year, attesting to the environmental feasibility of the business. Between 2010 and 2015, the elaboration of economic feasibility studies, issuance of licenses and requirements for the installation of the project followed.
After a break, the Project was resumed in 2020 by ERO COPPER. In 2021, the Installation license was issued by the Secretary of Environment and Sustainability of Pará. The project, located in Tucumã, is the first implemented by Ero Copper and will integrate the Ero Brasil brand under the name EroBrasil Tucumã.
